SOGE PROJECT CLOSING EVENT

Client: PIN - PEOPLE IN NEED

Project: “SOGE PROJECT” CLOSING EVENT

Date: June 2026

Location: Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia

The “Switching on the Green Economy” SOGE project, implemented over four years 2022-2026 with €2.2 million in funding from the European Union’s SWITCH-Asia Programme, was officially concluded. The project was jointly implemented by People in Need, the Mongolian Sustainable Finance Association (MSFA), Development Solutions NGO, and Caritas Czech Republic.

At the closing event, the project partners presented the key achievements and impacts of the initiative, which supported the sustainable development and green transition of Mongolia’s micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in the agri-food and water and beverage production sectors.

For the project’s closing event, our company designed and decorated the reception area with green botanical installations that reflected the project's sustainability theme. We were also responsible for coordinating media interviews, event photography, the exhibition, and the photo gallery, ensuring the successful execution of all event-related activities.

Also Viral Partners LLC was responsible for conducting a two month consumer behavior study and implementing a multi channel public outreach and awareness campaign as part of the project.

CHALLENGE

One of the key challenges was designing an event experience that would reflect the project's long-term impact while creating an environment that inspired confidence among existing and future partners. To achieve this, we developed a green botanical feature wall symbolizing a sustainable future, along with a photo exhibition showcasing the project's most significant milestones and achievements over the past four years.

Our role extended beyond producing the event's photography and video coverage. The closing event served as a platform to communicate the project's long-term outcomes, highlight the achievements of the SOGE Project, increase awareness of ESG principles and labeling, and encourage micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises to embrace sustainable and green production practices.

SOLUTION

The project's primary objective was to support a greener and more sustainable future. As part of this mission, it promoted environmentally responsible production practices by providing training, mentoring, and technical guidance to beverage producers and micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), helping them meet international quality and sustainability standards. Through the project's training and guidance, participating businesses successfully met the required standards and adopted more sustainable production practices. By improving waste management, reducing water and energy consumption, and lowering greenhouse gas emissions, these businesses made a meaningful contribution to building a greener future.

As a result of the project, environmentally responsible national manufacturers became eligible to display the ESG label on their products, enabling consumers to easily identify and support businesses committed to sustainable practices through their purchasing decisions. Building on these tangible achievements, our company implemented the project's public awareness and communication campaign, reaching approximately 5.5 million people across multiple channels. This campaign helped increase public awareness of the project, the ESG label, and sustainable production, creating value for the project team, People in Need (PIN), partner organizations, participating SMEs, and consumers alike. The project successfully concluded with a closing event that celebrated the achievements and impact of four years of collaborative work toward advancing Mongolia's green transition.

RESULT

The SOGE Project was successfully implemented from 2022 to 2026 and officially concluded with its closing event, marking the completion of four years of collaborative efforts to support Mongolia's green transition and sustainable business development. We organized a green photo-wall set up, photo gallery, “ESG” labeled products exhibition, photoshooting, interview and after video.

SOGE PROJECT:

  • Over this period, the project has supported over 2000 MSMEs, retailers, and stakeholders in Mongolia's food and beverage sector, facilitating their transition toward sustainable production, a circular economy, and a green economy.

  • As part of the project, an ESG certification framework and assessment criteria were developed, and a digital verification and certification platform was created to support the evaluation and certification process.

  • A total of 22 enterprises successfully completed the ESG assessment and received Green Certification and the ESG label, demonstrating their compliance with sustainable production standards.

  • The project also supported the development of green certification and eco-labeling systems, while assisting 14 organizations in accessing green financing. In addition, it provided essential technical assistance, training, and information to promote the adoption of circular economy principles, ultimately strengthening the capacity of 1,938 businesses.
